Well, i supose it's about time i updated here.
Today after so much bad weather i finally got to see about starting my business.
i tried last wednesday, but due to bad info from my mum, i ended up walking for an hour and a half to the wrong place... but they told me where the right place was.
i tried again on friday, got to the right place and made an appointment for this morning.
So i got there and i met with Caroline, who was the business advisor. I explained my idea to her and she seemed to think it was a really good idea. i explained that i knew a few people who had issues with buying clothes. she understood where i was coming from and even commented something to the effect that people aren't living the same lifestyle they were 50 years ago, and that the average weight of the population is rising, so she thought i had hit on an ideal market.
So we started going through all the paperwork, her explaining to me everything that i had to do and look into before starting off. i can actually get a £1000 grant to start me off that i don't have to pay back.
it's left me quite thoughtful. to be honest i'm worried that my project is just too big. trying to think small is a lot harder than i expected.

Well. Here goes nothing.
I've decided to create this journal as a means of placing my thoughts on what could be the turning point in my life. I have huge plans. But before i can run, i must learn to walk. i supose you could call this a diary to help me learn from the mistakes that i probably will make.
I'm going to try and start my own business. It has been inspired, slightly from a personal point of view and more so for my mum. I had been continually noticing that my mum had been struggling to buy clothes. she's 5", and weighs 20 stone. making it very difficult to find clothes, let alone clothes that fit well.
i myself, am not slim, but fortunately i am not as overweight as she is, but i still find it a struggle to find clothes with being a size 16-18. you might think that's hard to believe, but it is. any clothes i do find, either fit badly or are, what i would call, incorrectly sized. to give you an idea of what i mean, i went into a local supermarket recently, and tried on a size 16 pair of jeans. they were too tight, because they were hipster style, low cut. i tried on the 18, and they were miles too big, not to mention they went over my hips...
so with bad and ill fitting fashion in mind. i am going to take on this concept and design flattering and good fitting clothes for those with a fuller figure.
spose all i can do is see what happens.
